President & Director of Government Affairs

 Brinton Wilkey Jr. is the President and Director of Government Affairs for Wilkey Government Affairs Group LLC, located in Springfield, Illinois. After spending nearly a decade inside the State Government and the contractual lobbying world, Brinton opened his own firm with the mission to provide top-tier representation to all clients before the Legislative and Executive branches in Illinois.

 Before starting Wilkey Government Affairs LLC, Brinton served as Vice President and Director of Government Affairs at a contract lobbying firm for over four years where he was responsible for creating and implementing legislative agendas for 35+ clients. Prior to entering the private sector, Brinton served as a policy and budget analyst in the Illinois Office of the Senate Minority Leader, gaining valuable experience in the workings of state government. During this time, he handled a wide range of issues, including health, technology/telecommunications, state agency guidance, and debt service. He was also intimately involved in the state appropriations process. Throughout his time on staff, he worked with over 30 agencies, tracking their past-year spending and advising members on their future fiscal plans before the Senate Appropriations Committees I & II. In both of his previous roles, Brinton was able to take complex issues and break them down into easily digestible snapshots, enabling all parties involved to make informed, quick decisions. 

Brinton is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University (Political Science) and the University of Illinois - Springfield (M.B.A.).
